Trade-in considerations:

MPC-G offers life cycle computing solutions that include access to PC recycling services. For certain equipment, these recycling services are available at no cost. In fact, in some cases, your equipment may be eligible for a trade-in rebate.


FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (iii) Probable life of the item selected:
  • ClientPro® desktop platforms typically have a 12-month life cycle before redesign. Desktop features are upgraded and redesigned on a continuous basis to keep up with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • TransPort® Notebook platforms typically have a 12-month life cycle before redesign. Notebook features are upgraded and redesigned on a continuous basis to keep up with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • MPC-G Servers® are designed and refreshed around the industry standard life cycle. Servers are built for an expected five-year service life.

FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (iv) Warranty considerations:
  • Desktops come with one year of Next-Business-Day On-site service standard for CONUS systems. (OCONUS service is typically 2nd business day.)
  • Notebooks come with three years of Advanced Portable Exchange system replacement, provided next-business-day, as a standard for CONUS systems. (OCONUS service is typically 2nd business day replacement after the system has arrived in-country and cleared Customs.)
  • Servers come with one year of Next-Business-Day On-site service standard for CONUS systems. (OCONUS service is typically 2nd business day.)
  • Servers come standard with three Network Operating System (NOS) Resolutions.
  • Service upgrade options are available on all MPC-G desktop, notebook, and server systems to allow for service up to five years.
FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (v) Maintenance availability:
  • Desktop On-site service is available for up to five years.
  • Notebook upgrade available for On-site Notebook Exchange.
  • Server upgrade option with 4-Hour On-site anytime service available for up to five years.*

MPC has completed its acquisition of Gateway's professional division. The deal was originally announced about a week after Acer said Aug. 27 that it would buy the majority of Gateway's business for $710 million.
MarketWatch
MPC Corp. (MPZ) said Wednesday that it received antitrust clearance to buy Gateway's (GTW) professional business. According to MPC, a Nampa, Idaho-based provider of servers, storage products, PC products and peripherals, it was granted early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law, and it expects the deal to close on Oct. 1.
