MPC has completed its acquisition of Gateway's professional division. The deal was originally announced about a week after Acer said Aug. 27 that it would buy the majority of Gateway's business for $710 million.
MPC Corp. (MPZ) said Wednesday that it received antitrust clearance to buy Gateway's (GTW) professional business. According to MPC, a Nampa, Idaho-based provider of servers, storage products, PC products and peripherals, it was granted early termination of the waiting period required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law, and it expects the deal to close on Oct. 1.
